Math Clinic

Instructor - Monte F Hancock, Jr.

Date:  July 9 onward

Time:  2 – 5 pm

Location – Church on the Rock

Cost:  Free to NCCS enrolled students; $5 per visit for non-NCCS students

Info:  Students who need help on any kind of math from Grade 1 through college work can drop by during the math clinic's hours and receive help with their work.  You may have to wait your turn.  Parents of students in grades 1 through 3 must stay in the math clinic area with their students; parents of students in grades 4 and up can leave the premises, but must return in a reasonable time as suggested by the math tutor.  Our enrolled distance students can also access the math clinic through a virtual connection.

Please note:  this is NOT a time for us to help your student memorize math facts.  That is best done at home.  See the math contest page on the website for information on that.  The math clinic people will NOT do your math homework for you.  They WILL assist you with problems and techniques and show you from where your errors stem. The math clinic cannot be your only math program.

Students must bring their math book, paper, pencil, & eraser, along with their notebook of work from the current academic year so that Mr. Hancock can see what they have already done & diagnose any problem areas, .  They should bring a calculator only for trigonometry onwards.

The math clinic will be open to NCCS students free of charge; non-NCCS students will bring a $5 donation each time they visit.

If you have a student who has completed through Algebra II who would like to receive volunteer hours for helping in the math clinic, please email SANDYHOME@aol.com .  Colleges love seeing you were a math tutor on your transcript.
