Civics

This course is required for students to take in either 7th or 8th grades.

Open to students in grades 6th - 8th grades

 

Class starts in January, 2010.

Time: Fridays from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

Where: COTR Melbourne

First Class: January 22, 2010

Cost: NCCS Students - $100;
Non-NCCS Students - $200

Who can Enroll?

The first 20 enrolled NCCS Students in Grades 7 & 8

Materials Needed: A 2-3 inch size 3-ring notebook with dividers, pens, notebook paper

 

Description: Civics course covering local, state, and national government and the citizens rights & responsibilities therein.  Will include some field trips, which may need to be on alternate days to meet the schedules of the sites we will be visiting.  Expect classroom interactions.

Mrs. Phillips will grade the work and notify the parent periodically of the student’s grades.

Registration Deadline: 3 pm on December 4, 2009

Parents should expect that the student will have a minimum of an hour of homework each week.

This course will satisfy the required

Middle School civics course.

To Register:  fill out a standard class enrollment form (see home page of this site) and return it to the school office no later than December 4, 2009. The student is NOT considered registered until this form and the class fee are submitted.  Due to high demand, we cannot hold places without the paperwork and fee.
