Honors Physical Science Class

Mr. King has a degree in Physics, and is

looking forward to working with these students.

Who:  Open to NCCS students & parents as well as students in the broader community.

What:  A 2 semester course in physical science as an introduction to chemistry and physics.  Textbook materials will be covered as well as hands on lab work.

Corequisite:  Algebra I (student must at least be taking Algebra I while taking this course)

When:  Fridays, from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm

            First Semester - August 28, 2009 through December 18, 2009

            Second Semester - January 8, 2010 through May 7, 2010

Where:  Church on the Rock Melbourne, 4028 S. Babcock St., across from Palm Bay High School's stadium

Cost:  $100 per semester to cover lab fees, class, etc. for NCCS students, $150 per semester for non-NCCS students

Other Cost:  Student will need a copy of the 4th edition of Bob Jones University Press's Physical Science textbook ($46.50) and a copy of the corresponding Student Lab Manual ($19.00).  No other books or materials should be purchased.  Please make sure you have the 4th edition, regardless of where you purchase it.  Prices quoted are from the Bob Jones University website, http://www.bjupress.com/category/Grade+9+-+Physical+Science+for+Homeschool+HS?path=1561. 

Other places may carry the books for less.

How to Register:  Submit a copy of the class registration form to the school office.  Deadline for enrolling is noon on August 14, 2009.
