Beta Club

 

The Beta Club at New Covenant Christian School is affiliated with the National Beta Club.  Beta Club is an organization dedicated to community service, academic excellence, quality of character, and college scholarships.

 

The Beta Club Sponsors are adults who oversee the group's decisions, making sure safety and a good testimony are maintained at all times.  Our Current Beta Club sponsor is Katy Hancock. 

 

Community service activities involve service to NCS as well as service to the community in general.

 

Students are nominated to the Beta Club by the Assistant Principal, the Principal, and other staff members.  Nominations are done in the summer preceding the Fall Initiation Ceremony, which usually occurs at the school's Orientation in August.

                                                                

Nominations are made based upon the following criteria: 

 

 

·        Grades of A's and B's with predominately A's.

 

·        History of no infractions of school rules

 

·        Behavior at public events

 

·        Behavior at school events

 

·        History of  being able to follow directions and work with School Authorities

 

·        Have been a student at NCCS for at least one full semester of 90 days.

 

After nominations are made, the list of names is given to the Beta Club Officers.  The Officers then issue invitations to those people whose names are on the list.  Nominees have to accept the offer to be initiated into the Beta Club.

 

Beta Club has its own Constitution, and members are expected to abide by those rules.  Infractions can result in fines and suspensions.  Students are expected to attend at least 2 Beta Club meetings each month.  If you cannot make those meetings, please do not accept membership.
