Dress Code
We will be using a simple dress code for all small group meetings and school functions, including classes and testing time. Please remember that the dress code applies to parents as well as students and unenrolled siblings, friends, and relatives attending NCCS functions or using NCCS facilities.

Hair: Boys with long hair must keep it pulled back in a ponytail. All students must be of a natural color when attendance at school activities (no greens, blues, etc.)
With the exception of earrings, no body piercing jewelry, facial piercing jewelry, or tongue piercing jewelry at school activities.
No low necklines on boys or girls. No low backlines either.
No bare midriffs when arms are extended straight out from the shoulders.
During test week: No shorts at all, for boys or girls.
During Graduation: All graduating seniors must have hair of a natural hair color shade and design.
Some Test Day Considerations:
Because of the temperature of the rooms, both boys and girls will be more comfortable in long pants. Also students may wish to bring a sweater or jacket. We cannot accomodate everyone's temperature preference. The room temperatures are set at 74 degrees. Keep this in mind while choosing clothing for test week. Layering may be most appropriate so students can add or remove jackets and sweaters to deal with both indoor and outdoor temperatures.
Awards Day Dress Code
For Awards Day, in order to show respect to outside speakers, visitors, parents and the community, a higher standard of dress is expected of both parents and students. Both students and parents should dress as if they were attending a formal recital, though formal length is not meant. For example, girls could wear tea-length dress or nice slacks with a shell blouse, jacket. Boys are expected to wear long pants, dress shirts and, for grades 7 and up, a tie.
However, please note that the following are NOT acceptable: sports uniforms, ball caps, hair of other than natural colors or designs, shorts, sleeveless T-shirts, T-shirts with designs on the front or back, see-through shirts, backless or strapless dresses, swimsuits, tight clothing, halter tops, and any other outfit that does not conform to the normal NCCS dress code, especially any dresses with hemlines more than two inches above the knee.
