Academic Profile of NCCS Students

Grades 2-8 as of April, 2003

and

High School Average Scores for ACT and SAT as of June, 2007

The following are based on Stanford Achievement Testing done in April of 2003.  Grades K and 1st are not included in the results as WRAT tests were used for those students.  Grades 9-12 are not included because those students have the option of taking the ACT or SAT (College Board) in lieu of the Stanfords.  Most of the top students choose that option so scores for grades 9-12 would be skewed toward the lower students.

Scores will be listed in 3 categories:

Mean National percentiles

AAC Ranges -- percentiles in each of the 3 categories (low, medium high).  The AAC Range compares ability with achievement.  AAC results are expected to be concentrated in the medium range.

SAI index percentiles -- ability percentiles on a national basis.

AAC Range

AAC Ranges -- percentiles in each of the 3 categories (low, average, high).  The AAC Range compares ability with achievement.  AAC results are expected to be concentrated in the medium range.  Using AAC Range, even a high ability student who is scoring at their ability will receive an Average mark, since "average" indicates they are scoring at their ability level.

ACT & College Board SAT 2007

NCCS requires graduating seniors to take either the College Board SAT or the ACT during their senior year.  Many younger students in grades 9-11 also opt to take one of these in place of the Stanford's.

2007

All School Average SAT = 997

Senior Class 2007 Average SAT = 979

All School Average ACT = 20.76

Senior Class 2007 Average ACT = 21.29

Note that Florida's Bright Futures Scholarships grant a 75% scholarship to students scoring an ACT 20 or an SAT 970.
